10 Fan-fiction Links

10 FANFICTION LINKS

1. 1.1. Far_Away_on_the_Other_Side

Roy and Chon have woken up in a barren warehouse in New York. Confused by their surroundings, they figure out that they have time travelled to the future, from 1887 to 2009. The two partners (Roy-Chon, Inspector Lee-Carter) spot each other walking the streets, amazed at how strikingly similar Chon and Lee look, and after hearing about Lee’s recent dreams of the warehouse and seeing himself with Roy, they all decide that their meeting is more then a simple coincidence, and that they must work together to find the reason behind their peculiar circumstance. It is a phone call from Isabella (Lees girlfriend), detailing a bombing at Haven pharmaceuticals that ropes them into investigating Julie Tan and her fiancĂ© Rathborne (an English MP). The men later recognize Julie as Hu-li – partner to Ricky Tan who killed Lee’s father, and Rathborne as the man who murdered Chons father. The men focus in on Julie and Rathborne, and end up following men into a room where they are greeted by Robert Delvane and Xio Lao, leaders of the triad who had been waiting for them to arrive. He details his affiliation with the Hellfire Club – here both he and Xio dabbled in black magic and early science, here they discovered the secret to time travel, and immortality. They gifted these abilities to Rathborne and Hu-li, and have now regretted their decision having learnt of Rathborne and Hu-li plan to overturn order. The fan fic ends with Delvane proposing an exchange; if the men are able to capture Rathborne and Hu-li, he will give Lee and Carter information on other Triad associates, to Chon and Roy he will transport them back in time.

Being a Rush Hour fan, I really enjoyed reading this piece of fan-fiction. I liked how the writer tried to keep the personalities of the four main characters intact. In using two movies starring Jackie Chan, and bringing both his characters to the forefront of the plot – meeting each other, added mystery, humor and confusion, a clever way in creating suspense.

2. The_Greatest_Thing

It is the opening night of the newly converted Moulin Rouge; the show starts with a bang and ends with Satine collapsing to the ground as the curtain falls. Although very weak and fragile, she is still alive, and Christian carries her in his arms to his garret. The crazy bohemians upstairs are up to their old tricks, and once again the Argentinean falls through the floorboards and into Christian's room. Through the ceiling Toulouse yells an apology and offers an invitation for the two to come upstairs and join them for dinner, he made Christians favorite 'skiwmp kabobs', there was no other choice but to accept. In the meantime, Christian is distraught, he has no money, he sold his typewriter, and he realizes that he has nothing of value to offer Satine, and that without her he'd rather jump to his death then live on. Already satisfied in just being able to be with her love, she gives Christian hope, hope in that everything will work out fine. He will find a typewriter and with it not only save himself but save their beloved Moulin Rouge. They share a passionate kiss and start undressing each other, both eager to savor one another, however with Toulouse yelling through the ceiling that 'dinnew is weady', they put their love making on hold to dine with their friends waiting above.

I always wondered what could have happened if Satine had lived on, and this fan-fiction gives us the happy ending we romantics longed for. The fan-fic is a testament to the movies famous line 'the greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love, and be loved in return'.

3. Mr_NY_152_days_of_disguise

Kathleen Kelly finally meets her online pen-pal who to her delight is the man who put her out of business, the man she was starting to fall in love with: Joe Fox. After sharing a kiss, and tears, Joe Fox reassures her she does not need to cry anymore, 'Joe Fox is here'. In reply she joked 'Mr NY152, 152 days of not knowing it was you'. He just grinned. They walked off through the gardens, spending the perfect day together.

I love 'You've Got Mail', and this addition to the ending is perfect. The line 'Mr NY152, 152 days of not knowing you' is brilliant. A segment in the movie shows Kathleen trying to find out the meaning behind her pen-pals username 'Mr NY152', and Joe Fox taunting her with silly absurd suggestions. Also the fact that early in the movie Joe comes to know the identity of his pen-pal, enabling him to gain an insight on Kathleen personality and character, and use this knowledge as a weapon for his own entertainment, it is nice to see in this fan-fiction at least, that Kathleen has the last say, the final comeback.

4. Living_In_A_Strange_World

Boo is now 20 years old, sitting at her desk scribbling drawings of friendly monsters, reminiscing of her own childhood monster, her friend Sulley. She missed him dearly. She missed Monstropolis. That night as she drifted off to sleep, she got an unexpected visit. Walking through her closet doors was Sulley holding his newborn son Lukas in his hands. 'I want you to look after him and take care of him' he asked of her. After hearing Sulley explain his reasons that Lukas mother died in childbirth, and because of his work commitment as CEO the authorities would be quick to take his son. Taking Lukas from Sulley, Boo obliged.

This fan-fiction tells the true meaning of friendship, in the light of hardships and difficult situations, having a friend you can depend on is worth more then anything in the world. Also those friendships can be found with unimaginable others, human or not. Lol

5. After_She_Left

This fan-fic tells what happened the night Jenny and Forrest Gump slept together, the feelings she felt for Gump, a little explanation to why she left him the morning after, and where she was headed to. Having grown up with a monster as a father, and a past she was not particularly proud of...sex, drugs and alcohol, Jenny only ever felt safe and loved by one person: Forrest Gump. However because she knew how broken she was she 'couldn’t stay with him, because she loved him too much'. To spare him the trouble of loving her, she ran. First from his bed to a cab, the cab took her to the train-station that carried her across country to her only known relative, her father’s sister Aunt Irene. She never planned out anything in her life before, she took chances. here she was again, hoping her Aunt would be understanding and let her in. Luck played out, and she was welcome to stay with Aunt Irene for as long as needed.

This fan-fiction paints a sad portrait of Jenny, sexually abused by her alcoholic father she goes through life living life on the edge, not able to trust anyone she drowns her past with drugs. What’s more sad is that when she realizes her love for Forest, she does not even trust herself to love him. She is always on the run; running away from bad influences and experiences but also running away from the even scarier thought that life could be simply beautiful.

6. The_Curse_of_Gilda

Anna opens the door to a crowd of paparazzi, dressed in nothing but her lovers shirt. She could imagine the headlines in tomorrows paper 'Married actress sleeps with local bookstore owner, following the release of her nude photos'. What was she thinking! Away from the noise and cameras, all she could think of was William, no matter how hard she tried not to. He could not have done this to her, he did not have it in him..or was this the curse of Gilda, Rita Hayworth used to say 'they go to bed with Gilda and dont like it when they wake up with me'.

This fan-fiction is an extension to the movie, it gives an introspective look into the character of Anna. Regardless of the fame, the decisions she makes, the emotions she feels are just the same as anyone else. Some people may think, that life comes easy to those who are famous, this movie as well as this fan-fiction show that this belief is not so, especially when it comes to matters of the heart.

7. Tales_of_Queens_Sarabi

This fan-fiction gives an intimate look into the character of Sarabi and her friendship with Mufasa. Their relationship as cubs heading into adulthood when compared to Simba's relationship with Nala in the movie 'Lion King' is exactly the same. Mufasa leads Sarabi to the elephant graveyard, just as Simba did with Nala. The fact that both future kings as cubs put not only themselves but also their "lady"-friend in danger, emphasizes that their thought of chain came from just being young; curious and unable to properly evaluate danger. Their nature was not evil-spirited like that of Mufasas brother Scar (Taka - in the fan-fiction). I thought it was interesting to see that by focusing in on one minor character Sarabi, the author in turn gave a deeper insight to the main characters in Lion King.

8. I_love_you_Baby

Three years after they last saw each other, Baby cant believe Johnny is finally coming to pay her a visit. He had taught her so much, not only how to dirty dance, but he made her a woman. He walked through her door with a question for her, he wanted her hand in marriage. Throughout history, the greatest love stories are those that leave us wanting more, they are cut short, brief engagements. Baby and Johnny are the modern Romeo and Juliet, it was nice to see an alternative ending that allows them to take that chance in loving each other as man and wife. There is this belief that brief romances have more intensity and heat, and maybe so, but in this fan-fiction however cliche it may be its nice to have the happily ever after ending.

9. Two_Students_One_Teacher

This fan-fiction was touching. It was dedicated to the actor who played Mr Miyagi in "The Karate Kid" series, Mr Noriyuki 'Pat' Morita. Daniel LaRusso and Julie Pierce, two former karate students of Mr Miyagi gather with other friends and family to pay their respects and say farewell to their beloved friend, their teacher Mr Miyagi. Daniel and Julie reminisce about their time with Miyagi, laughing about his crazy teaching techniques and how he made them both learn the 'wax on, wax off' technique. Its obvious to see that people get attached to certain characters, and when the actor or actress passes away, this sense of loss is felt. Writing a piece of fan-fiction and putting it out there for others to read is a way not only to express their grief but also show respect to the movie and the man, beautiful thought.

10. My_Number_One_Fan

Love at first sight? This was not the case for Jane and Kevin, however their love story is just as sweet. Having grown up with a love for wedding ceremonies and all that it represented, the wedding column in the newspaper was Janes guilty obsession. She had an album made for it and cut out every article in the column, 'each one placed in a special sheet protector'. Kevin walked into her life, a cynic of love, who could not understand her obsession, and dedication to being part of so many weddings, a bridesmaid in 27 to say the least! No matter how much she despised him, she later found out he was the author of her dreams...the reporter writing the wedding column, who made her believe in fairytales and happy endings, and that love is magic. Now they are happily married, and looking at the album he finds it amusing and heartwarming that he married his number one fan. Before he met her, he just wrote about love, now with her by his side he believed in it.

The Hood

Innocent eyes gleam apparent to the stuffed brown animal that was once her most precious.

You want some cake little Bear? You want to taste the sweet berry plum bun my Nana made for me?

Innocent eyes grew like wild fire encaged between her eyes spreading to her cheeks and down to her crimson-lipped mouth.

WELL YOU CANT HAVE ANY!!! She shouted. She stuffed the old small bear into her ridged basket and walked ahead.

This is what my Nana gave me so im not allowed to give it away. She said softly.

Holding the bun in both palms was a wrapped note slightly torn and ragged brown. See it says for Little Red Riding Hood. That’s me little Bear, she whispered.

She walked ahead.

Red riding hood was used to walking through the woods it was her only retreat from civilization and disbelief that her grandmother was gone. She often thinks about her when she takes small slow strides on the same pathway to her grandmothers towards the heart of the woods. To her, it was the only way to feel homely.

Ten years had passed since her grandmother’s death. Its all the Wolf Packs fault she thought. All they want to do is pick on small kids, pigs and rob old ladies!

For the Wolf Pack was the maddest blackest most wanted gang in the woods.

But something her grandmother said to her once would drag on in her mind like a broken tape recorder.

Your father was just like you Red Riding Hood. Your father was just just like you.

Just like me? She thought silently.

Red riding hood reached her grandmother’s house.

She stared at the run down house, ragged edges, and crumbled bricks with just an outline of what it once was. Nana’s house she whispered.

Walking through the rubble red riding hood then remembered its old bricked walls standing before her, its windows bright yet warm. The fireplace charcoaled black, leading up to a chimney that would stand out from the rest. It was red with a funny bend to it, choking spits of smoke day and night.

That’s how you’d know Nana was home. She smiled.

Disturbed from the thought. She heard what sounded like bricks being thrown. Making a loud thud as it hit the ground.

THUD! Red riding hood quickly peered outside from the broken window.

Oi! Stop that!! She commanded.

A small boy with worn down shorts and nothing else walked in front of her and eventually gave her a witty smirk.

THUD! Hey I mean it, this is my Nana’s house!!

The small boy dazed at her cluelessly.

Are you lost? She shouted.

His eyes still at a daze. No eah I live here, he exclaimed.
He raised his right arm and pointed to the ground. This is my hood.

Red riding hood chuckled. This isn’t your ‘hood’! This is the woods.

Where did you come from small boy?

With no hesitation he repeated. I come from here! This is the hood!

Red riding hood stared into the boy’s eyes and he didn’t seem agitated.

Seemingly red riding hood somehow wanted to believe the small boy or even better have proven him wrong.

You’re a liar, she said curiously.

The small boy dropped the broken brick in his hand. Eah ill show you then, he answered back.

The small boy never mentioned his name to red riding hood, he just briskly walked somewhat jogged deeper into the woods, never once turning his back to see if red riding hood was following.

Only a few paces behind his steps red riding hood looked at the small boy. She wondered why she was following him; this is silly, she grunted. But her feet did not stop following, her mind could not stop wondering.

There was silence. She looked forward and the small boy was nowhere to be seen. Red riding hood stood terrified since this part of the woods was known to be Wolf Pack territory. She knew this was a bad idea.

Psssst…

The sound circled, echoing through the dark woods.

Who’s there! She exclaimed.

She searched for the voice.

It’s me! The boy leapt in front of her as if inpatient and eager at the same time.

Were here! He grinned. Pointing out towards two gigantic trees. Red riding hood’s eyes widened with amazement. They’re huge! She replied.

Uh yeah it’s a Kauri tree, he answered back.

They walked through the two trees and there hung a giant plank of wood. Carved on it in charcoal black block letters. ‘The Hood’ est. 1993.

Red riding hood glanced around. There wasn’t much but the people seemed happy to be living so simply.

She gazed at the small boy. Gradually she asked, why is it called ‘The hood’?

The small boy stared at his home. My mum told me that it’s named after the founder. He wanted to build a place for people to live simply so that other’s may simply live. His name is Robin Hood.

Messiah

a Bible-Superman crossover fanfic piece.

Messiah.

Hope is the worst of all evils.

The worst.

The words echoed insistent, becoming a chorus hum in his mind.
It wasn’t that he felt guilt. No, guilt was an emotion for lesser beings; guilt was the absence of logic, and the failure of the resolve to get the job done.
It was cruel though, that such a noble concept would become the crutch of all mankind.

Brainiac’s plan had been genius in its simplicity. Almost a waste of the vast capabilities of a 12th level intellect. After what had seemed like an endless ream of decades battling the ignorant heroes of earth, it had finally occurred to him that his battles were better fought elsewhere – in simpler times along the line of mankind’s evolution.

After all, it was not power or intellect that men craved, as much as the security of a saviour.

And that’s when it had struck him. Why waste time contending to be a god, when you could easily steal a throne?

Teleporting himself back had been like the skimming of a stone. He had landed in a fractured back-section of the middle-east among the prophets and the zealots, a world of Pharisees and religious sheep. He had timed his entry perfectly, months before the so-called Messiah of the Jews was prophesied to arrive. The people were at a fever pitch, harangued and tortured by the one they called Herod the Great, longing for the saviour their scrolls had promised them – the one who would reform a world.

From there it had been as easy as slipping on the robe of a king. The prophets were claiming that Messiah would arrive awash with signs and wonders; the perfect mixture of political oratory and grand-parlour magic.

Brainiac was more than adept at both.

The Messiah’s actions had been well documented. Brainiac had studied him well beyond the point of play-acting. But this Messiah had been too small-minded, too foolish, too full of hope. It had become his undoing – sacrificing himself for the sake of a world that would either twist him into a broken fable, or spit on his grave. He should have taken power when he had the chance, the world’s ultimate benevolent dictator – he could have made this planet perfect. He could have had it all.

Brainiac would have it all.

The Messiah’s Free Will was a myth, a useless token mankind thought they wanted. If there was going to be a higher power, shouldn’t that higher power rule those below? Braniac would show them; to be led was their true desire, and it would be his ultimate gain.
Brainiac’s big ‘coming out’ had gone without a hitch. Bereft of technology and enamoured with mysticism, the Jewish people had regarded his transformation of the wedding guest’s water as nothing short of supernatural. For Brainiac, it had been a simple manipulation of atoms that turned water into wine – for the crowd that had amassed around him, it had been the first glimmer of a Messiah.

Word of Brainiac’s deed had spread like Jerusalem Ivy. It never took long for the desperate to corral a thousand years of theology into a neon sign pointing to him.

Messiah had come, they said.

And overnight, it had been so.

Brainiac wore the title well. He was a master orator. A master of history’s recital, rather. He stood on the mount and reached into the future, borrowing Freud’s concepts of mass hypnosis to induce hysteria, he called upon the books of the great magicians to induce levitation on the waters. He even allowed himself the guilty pleasure of a batch of homemade Chinese yanhua, crude fireworks to lend wings to the people’s ‘demons’.

It had all been so easy. Easy to prey on the Achilles Heel of man, to slip into the shoes of a savior. Brainiac’s masterstroke had been in turning their hope against them, de-powering them instead of empowering them. Every time he looked out upon the crowd, it had been as a master surveying his property. An army of the willing.

And that’s when it had hit him. Perhaps even his grand view had been too small.

The thought had occurred to Brainiac on one of his daily rounds, when a distraught Jewish mother had shoved her way through the throng, presenting the limp body of her dead son to him.

If you are Messiah, she had said, raise him.

Brainiac could have stumbled. He had known full well that for all of his powers, there was one he lacked, one that set him apart from the Saviour of man: the power to give life.

Brainiac could manipulate life, but he could not give it. He could inhabit bodies, but he could not revive them.
He had faltered for a mere second and in an unreasoned moment of panic, had done the only thing possible to him; imparted his own life-force into the empty shell of the boy, cloning his own essence within the body. The people had erupted into rapturous worship, throwing themselves down into the dust of the ground. Little did they know, their Messiah had not saved a boy, he had inhabited a body, he had made a clone of himself under the face of another; a lifeless drone driven only by his bidding.

And that’s when it had hit him.

…why contend to win souls, when you could master puppets?

10 Fan Fics

Titanic fan fiction of Rose in the future as an old lady. Here Rose revisits the beach, cold Atlantic waters where her heart had been for decades. She rememebrs memories of Jack. And then the most charming memories would fade into nightmares. Rose then hears screams and distorted helpless cries of the thousands of passengers who died. She pictures the ship sinking faster and harder than her nightmarish memory. Depressed, Rose walks away and retreats to her room, there the stony frozen image of Jack stares at her as she drifted off to sleep. The writer's ideologies are perhaps the only solution is to let go of memories that will only draw despair.

A lyrical fan fiction of 'summer' nights' from
Grease sung by Danny and Sandy in todays world of romance. This is the first few lines, Danny: Summer lovin had me a blast. Sandy: Summer oh my, it went by so fast. Danny: I met a girl crazy for me. Sandy: I met a boy annoying as can be. Sandy continues to disregard Danny for the rest of the song as 'hate' at first sight whilst Danny maintains the same old dialog throughout the whole song. The writer uses humor in this fanfic to illustrate today's love relationships where the girl's now a days can easily 'wear the pants' in the relationship compared to that of when Grease was made, it was probably forbidden.

A fan fiction crossover between
Harry Potter and The Prince of Persia starring Peter Pettigrew (the human rat in harry potter). Peter brings into play the rusty dagger that obtains the sands of time with intentions of bringing to life his masters (lord voldemort) reign of mortality. Doing this Peter will be no longer a weakling in the background but a powerful hero amongst the ranks of his master's followers. This fanfic is fairly straight forward by means of opposed absolutes. The writer uses role switching with the 'human rat' where he is suddenly the champion. If only something bad happened to the rat in order for the story to turn back around again.

A fairly short fanfic crossover between
Ugly Betty and Superman that tells of the day that Betty Suarez meets superman Clark Kent. Strutting down the street she was on her way to pick up something for Daniel (her boss) when Betty clumsily dropped her phone. She ran back to get it when suddenly a car came and Superman swept her up and saved the day. Betty had no intentions of praising the man, just a simple Thank you. Later that day Betty serving as a representative from Mode had an appointment with the Dailey Planet where she discovers Clark kent. But Betty as awkward as she she was knew very well it was superman unlike Lois. A good example of a crossover between two different decades where the writer's ideologies is presumably 'be yourself', even with someone like superman.

Fan fiction on
Jumanji from hunter Van Pelt's point of view. He describes whats in store for whoever dares to roll the dice of chance where adventure excitement and the unexpected is the expected. Hunter Van Pelt tries to seduce adolescents and embarks on being the real terror of the jungle for he will be the only one that has skill and experience and somewhat control and understanding of the beating heart of Jumanji. This short fan fiction is all craze for those who enjoy the thought of chance and risk, something we have to consider at a cross road in our life.

A short fan fic about
Peter Pan the movie only with another girl wich he falls in love with and vice versa; ignoring the fact that he is the boy that will never grow up. After his first love and kiss with Wendy Darling he comes across another girl with the intention of not falling in love again yet he does in good time. Her name remains anonymous throughout the whole fan fic. Funny how the writer could come up with this fan fic twist, despite Peter Pan's situation even he can move on.

A
Paranormal Activity fan fic about the ending of the movie where Micah dies, only this time it is rewritten and the audience actually knows what happened downstairs that caused his death. Here Katie pretends to scream with shadows and other evil life forms surrounding her, hissing from inside consequently ending her boyfriend's life. In the end she kills herself as well and bleeds to death on their bedroom floor. A good fan fic of what would and could happen in spite of the mysterious ending where the movie leaves the audience clueless as to what actually happened.

Poseidon the movie fan fiction with the concept of
Poseidon for Dummies. Set in a highschool classroom with an awkward unmournful teacher explaining why she does not mourn for those who died in the ship. The teacher explains why and simplifies the nature of the wave that caused the Poseidon to flip in the first place. She goes on to make her point by saying they shouldn't have waited and instead have broken the glass in the dinning room where the air bubble was keeping the ship afloat and once the room was full enough the water's speed entering the room would have lessened and those who could swim would have been able to get out. Great fan fiction about all the possiblities a movie could hold in terms of storyline and aquisition.

Another lyrical fan fic in poem form about the movie
Panic Room. From mother's view of willingness and strife for the simple reason of her safety and more importantly her daughter's; in regard of her type one diabetes. This fan fic is lengthy for a poem but is inspiring resembling the tittle of the fan fic poem 'So brave'. The writer wishes to draw attention to the mother's feelings throughout the movie which makes this fan fic intresting seeing that we don't actually give a characters feeling much thought.

A tiny fan fiction about the movie
Rush Hour only this time Lee and Carter have been assigned a new partner so now there is three of them. It's a girl which is even more of a twist. Carter as usual flirts with her but she has no interest in Carter's funny persona instead she is intended on making a move on Lee. The writer adds one more main character to a movie such a Rush Hour, which will only transform the whole concept and somewhat the theme of the movie.

10 Fan Fics, Draft

Fanfic Links

1. Martyrdom - A crossover fanfic piece which sees Professor Charles Xavier (X-men) transported to biblical times as a result of a botched time-travel experiment. Recuperating with a family of Aramaic-speaking farmers, Xavier is without his wheelchair and passes himself off as a disoriented cripple. While staying with the family, Xavier encounters Jesus, the biblical messiah at the height of his popularity. Witnessing Jesus' healing ministry, the Professor decides the man is a powerful mutant and decides to accompany him and his disciples to Bethlehem. While a good crossover piece, Martyrdom could do more to explore the mutant spin on Jesus - is the messiah simply a good-willed mutant, or he using his gift for deceptive purposes?

2. Joker Delight - A lyrical crossover that tells the tale of Batman villain The Joker, banished to a strange work detention by the exasperated lawmakers of Gotham City. Exiled to work at Charlie's Chocolate Factory, the Joker is welcomed in the form of a song, sung by his new colleagues, the Ooompa-Loompas. At first, the pint-sized labourers mourn The Joker's twisted crimes, lamenting the fact he 'thinks nothing of a casual kill', but as they reflect on the demise of the Chocolate Factory's prior guests (Violet, Verruca, Mike - "we sent one brat right up a pipe!"), they realize that their dark mischief is on par with his, ending the ode with a request to join his gang. A great example of crossover, where both world's are represented and their facet's melded well.

3. Family Guy - Road_to_Nintendo - This unoriginal Family Guy fanfic piece finds the characters of the leftfield comedy up to their usual tricks - Meg hits on a strange Scottish man, while Chris cleans up after the evil monkey in his closet, and Stewie jacks up one of his many handheld gaming consoles to create a parallel universe-spanning machine that sends Brian and him on a quest to discover a universe of bones. Perhaps best left on the cutting room floor...

4. Knight Rider - The Phoenix Knight - This Knight Rider/MacGyver crossover opens with Michael Knight hospitalized by a malfunctioning KITT, while in a junkyard faraway, the daughter of fabled fix-it hero Angus MacGyver rifles through the wreckage of a mysterious black Trans-Am that took the life of her father. A good example of altering characters by switching generations and genders .

5. Castaway - Irony - In a great example of effective fanfiction, the author presents an alternative ending to the Tom Hanks feelgood hit Castaway. The altered closing scene sees Chuck returning the Fed-Ex parcels he had collected whilst on the island - he delivers one of the final packages, only to witness the recipient open it and eagerly produce a satellite phone, batteries for the satellite phone and a GPS unit. A hilarious twist.

6. The Shining - Return To The Overlook - A fanfic piece which takes place ten years after the tragic events that befell the Torrance family as chronicled in the original Shining. Invented protagonist David Trevanall serves as nothing more than a duplicate of Stephen King's character Jack Torrance, the storyline almost aping the first couple of chapters of the book - the only noticable difference being that Trevanall's child is a girl, as opposed to Torrance's child, who was a boy.

7. Truman Show - Show Must Go On - As the intro to this piece says, "A TV network would never let such a succesful concept get away" - 3 years after Truman Burbank's escape from the created world of Seahaven, shamed producer Christof is coaxed back into the producer's chair, creating a "new flawed and strangely unremarkable world." As the world in large watches in anticipation, another innocent soul is born into the manufactured goldfish-bowl world in which he will live. A great example of the continuation of a movie's storyline, however, not the most original continuation - the author could have offered some speculation from Christof about how he was going to avoid a repeat occurence of Burbank's awakening and escape.

8. Seriously Floating - A crossover piece which sees the two most sinister clowns of all time meet, painted face to painted face. Having terrorized the children of Derry for decades, Pennywise (from Stephen King's It) hears about some competition to his monopoly on terror and party tricks - a sinister villain named The Joker. Pennywise crawls the sewers to Gotham City, meeting The Joker and confronting him, while they each assert their respective turfs. The author could have made more of this piece; essentially, Pennywise does nothing more than crawl up a drain and say hi to the Joker. For two such well-developed, iconic and sinister characters, you would hope for more fireworks upon their meeting.

9. Assigned To What - Crossover. The ever mischievous Gregory House takes his workplace pranks to a whole new level when he gets himself and colleague Cuddy assigned to the X-Files. Their first case? Spontaneous human combustion. Storyline is not well developed - not entirely sure how House talked his way into the FBI, nor is it made clear where Mulder and Scully have gone - one can only guess they are the spontaneously combusted cold-case.

10. He Wishes He Was Elrond - A crossover ode to Agent Smith from The Matrix, who can't help but be occasionally overwhelmed by "weird" urgings to become Elrond, a distant cousin. "I wish I was Elrond, just for one day" Smith laments, "Ruling half the elves, send those quest dudes away." A great crossover parody, which centres around the actor of two roles as the common thread.

Fanfic Links, and my own Fanfiction

1. Carrie_and_Alexander_in_Paris Carrie finds herself in Paris with Alexander, her lover whom she fell in love with in New York. Paris seems to be a different atmosphere, physically and emotionally. The chemistry and communication between she and Alexander has a new dynamic and she finds herself alone, due to Alexanders' busy schedule and away from friends in New York. Carrie ends up reminiscing about Big, and as Alexander once again scurries off to 'work', Carrie feels the pain of abandonment in a foreign land.

2. I_Heart_New_York_another_way Big has told Carrie he is leaving New York for California. She goes over to his empty apartment where he pulls her in and they begin to dance. As he holds her tight she enjoys the smell and security of being with him. Carrie is still confused and asks Big why he is leaving. After asking if it had to do with his job or residency, Carrie asks the dreaded question of whether it has to do with his most recent flames. Big denies and carries on dancing, holding Carrie close so she cannot see his facial expressions. Carrie is persistent and the tone behind her questions is one of not wanting him to leave. She makes a comment about how they are friends so they should be able to talk to eachother about anything. Upon hearing this Big laughs, knowing that not to be true. He tells Carrie he is in love but that the feeling is not mutual because he had ruined the foundation of the relationship with this person. Carrie, not suspecting it to be her tells Big to just speak to the woman. Big continues to pour out his heart, Carrie suspects it might her, however she cannot be sure and walks away out of fear of rejection. Out of desperation Big yells out to Carrie that shes the one, that he loves her, and will always love her. She confesses her love for him also and they spend the night making love.

3.Love_sex_and_death_Sex_and_the_City There are many different stories intertwining, with most of the regular characters involved. We touch on Charlottes pregnancy, she no longer needs to adopt a child. Carrie meets up with Big and they take a walk down memory lane, we almost get the feeling that Big was about to propose to Carrie but something came up and he had to leave. Carries visits with Miranda and they do the analysis of Big and Carries almost proposal, with Miranda being cynical as ever. Carrie goes to a job interview, along the way getting muddy and stepping in fecies, and once she turns up to her interview it needs to be rescheduled. We get the feeling that Carries day is getting worse for wear, only then to receive a phone to rush to the hospital and upon arrival finds that Samantha has passed away suddenly. As one life ends, another begins.

4. Big_Changes
In this piece of writing we see a natural theme for the Sex and the City cast. The author has created a situation where Charlotte sees that Carrie is pregnant and coerses her to go to the doctor for confirmation. On the other hand Miranda and Steve have been experimenting with punishment and Samantha treats Miranda to a day at the spa. The conversational style is this piece makes it easy to follow, and i find that the language is that of how i imagine the characters to speak.

5. Me_and_you_just_us_two In this post, we find Carrie lost in inner thought as she discovers a positive pregnancy test. The signs had been there and a the result clear but she has hope that it was a false positive. This leads Carrie to think about her past, present and the implications this might have on her future. The writer had used third person perspective, which allows a nice change to the usual first person narrative. The story line is easy to follow and creates a descriptive, detailed account of how Carrie is feeling enabling the reader to relate to her.

6.

Immortal_and_the_City In this post the author has taken an abstract view. The characters have changed completely, both personality and appearance. The names are similar enough to understand, but do not take the usual story line, an advantage of having a site with an open forum. I appreciate the interpretation of this author as being creative and different, however the genre of her work is not what i would typically read.

7. Need_You_Now. In this post the athour has was influenced by a popular song- Need You Now by Lady Antebellum. The song in the eyes of the author reflects the love and desire that Big and Carrie share for one another. As more lyrics unfold the plot thickens and what began as a lonesome night for the pair, in their separate appartments ends up with them in bed together, declaring their love and vowing never to leave again. I love the way the author has intertwined the two texts, and i feel in my opinion accurately reflects the desires that they feel for eachother.

8. An_Act_of_Friendship. This blog describes the struggle Charlotte has gone through to tyr and get pregnant and adopt a baby. Miranda is about to give birth dan decides she is not ready for a child. She offers the child to Charlotte and an overwhelmed, grateful Charlotte accepts Braidy with open arms. The story is short and sweet and reflects the love that the women in this show have for one another.

9. Death_Sex_and_New_York. This story takes place after the last episode ever made. The plot is that Samantha's cancer returned and she died. Carrie wakes up the next morning and finds herself confusing Big with Samantha. She is in denial and shock and wants nothing to do apart from sleep and not have to deal with the reality- that her bestfriend had gone. I like the description in this piect, it includes dialogue and third person narrative. The feelings are artculated very well and a true Sex and the City fan would feel for how much of a loss this is to Carrie, by the way the author has worded this piece.

10. Blinded In this piece of writing the author has chosen to look back at the first Sex and the City movie. A few key points in the movie have been strategically articulated to summarise the major moments in a few short paragraphs. The plot is after Big leaves Carrie at tht altar, it follows to where she sees him on the road and runs up to him.. He mistakes this for her running back to him. The author describes how Big managed to mess up everytime and how Carrie seemed to always go back to him. Not this time. A broken hearted Carrie picks up the pieces with her friends and moves on. The author has written this story in a succint manner and sums up all the major points in the Carrie and Big saga of the first movie.

MY FANFICTION

This takes place as an alternate ending to the Sex and the City 2 movie, from the perspective of Carrey.

I don't own any of the characters..

Aidan- Wow kitty kat, you look fantastic, i'm loving you in Abu Dhabi.. Get comfy..
Carrie- Why thank you, you're looking good yourself mister! Mmm your hotel smells good, I'm starving!
Aidan- They have the best curry here, been living on it the past two weeks
Carrie- Oh, you know me, still can't eat hot food, now hot men on the other hand- easy peasy
Aidan- Hah! You haven't changed, if its not stepping over the line, i must say- i miss you..
Carrie- I miss you too..
Aidan- Really??
(My heart started beating faster than ever)
Carrie- I can't do this- you're married, i'm married, i need fresh air!!
Aidan- Carrie, wait!
(He grabbed me, and pulled me into his chest, it felt warm, I felt closer to him than I have to Big in a long time)
Carrie- It feels so right, but I can't
Aidan- Carrie, it's a sign.. I've thought about you every single day since i read about your success in the New Yorker a year ago! And now you're here! In Abu Dhabi! I can't pretend this isn't perfect..
(I felt my lips lean into his, all my emotions flooded back and before i knew it, he was leading me up to his hotel room. I felt like a school girl, romancing my crush)
Aidan- F**k you're sexy
Carrie- Shut up and make love to me!!
(It was gentle and passionate, I started to think about Big. The guilt made my eyes well up with tears. I pushed Aidan off and said
"I can't do this!!!!!!"
Aidan yelled out for me to stop, but i buttoned up my coat and ran to find a taxi)

Carrie- Taxi!!
Cab Driver- ughh?
Carrie- Do you speak English?
(Tears were flooding down my face)
Cab Driver- Sorry???
(The Bell Hop must have been finished for the night, my hotel was nearby so I decided to run home instead..)
Carrie- DAMMIT! I'm such an idiot!!
(Mascara from my tears got into my eyes, it burned. I closed my eyes to rub them, and stepped in a tiny pot hole and fell.. My Minollo Blanic snapped at the heel.. They were the heels Big had used to propose to me)
Carrie- NO!!!!! It's karma!! I'M SORRY!!!!!

(I managed to pull myself together, as soon as I opened the door to our luxury penthouse suite, I burst into tears in a pile on the floor)
Charlotte- Carrie!! What's wrong?
(Miranda and Samantha rushed over to pick me up)
Carrie- I slept with Aidan!! I broke my Minollo!! I'm going to hell!!!!
Samantha- Is that the shoe Big proposed to you with??
(I nodded in shame!)
Miranda- What are you going to do??
Samantha- Nothing! We are going to have a drink and figure out a solution.. Besides, we're in Abu Dhabi for crying out loud- It doesn't count!!
Charlotte- How can you say that?? Of course it counts!! You HAVE to tell Big!!!
Miranda- No, when Steve told me he cheated, and I found out it was only once, I felt i'd gone through all that anguish for nothing! Don't tell him
Samantha- Do you love Aidan now?
Carrie- NO! Half way through my sin I felt guilty and started crying.. I pushed Aidan off me and ran out of there as soon as i put my clothes on..
Charlotte- See? You feel guilty, you'll always feel that way until you get it off your chest and tell Big!
Samantha- No, she's already learned her lesson.. Big doesn't need to know
Miranda- For the first time ever, I agree with Samantha!
Carrie- Oh my gosh!!! I had the perfect relationship, a man that adored me, who trusted me, and what do I do? I sleep with my ex! I don't deserve love!
Miranda- Don't say that! Just get some rest, and once you've had time to calm down, you'll see it's not such a big deal
Samantha- Honey, let me tuck you in, it's going to be alright.. We'll talk about this in the morning.

(I didn't bat an eye lash all night, I decided to call Big)
Big- Hello?
Carrie- John? It's me..
Big- Well hey there baby, how are you? Must be early morning, can't sleep?
(I started sobbing uncontrollably)
Big- What's happened?
Carrie- I've done something horrible, you're never going to forgive me.. I don't deserve forgiveness!!
Big- What? What do you mean?
Carrie- I slept with Aidan! It didn't last long 'cause I realised I was making a big mistake and I promise..
(BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP, the call ended before I could explain or hear Big's response... I tried calling back but it went to answer machine)
Carrie- What have I done? I ruined my marriage!

Carrie-Samantha, wake up, Samantha..
Samantha- What is it Honey?
Carrie- We have to go to the airport now.. I just rang Big, I HAVE to go home..
Samantha- Wake up the girls, i'll book the flight now!

Air Hostess- Cold beverage ma'am?
Carrie- Another cosmopolitan..
Charlotte- I'm proud of you for telling him.. It's going to be okay
Carrie- Thanks, but I doubt that
Samantha- He's a prick if he holds this against you, especially since he's seeing another woman.
Carrie- WHAT??
Miranda- Yeah, WHAT?
Samantha- Oh, forget I said anything.. I just saw him at lunch with a woman, didn't see her face
Over Head Speaker- Please fasten your seat belts as we prepare to land, thank you
Carrie- must have been a business meeting.. OMG I SLEPT WITH AIDAN!
Charlotte- Carrie, keep drinking!

Carrie- My key wont work!!
Miranda- Kick the door down!
Samantha- Let me try it
Carrie- He's changed the locks, my life is officially over!
Charlotte- Come here honey..
Samantha- I can hear a female voice inside...!!!
Miranda- OPEN UP!!!
(door opens)
Charlotte- NATASHA!!!!
(Carrie faints)
Samantha, Miranda, Charlotte- CARRIE!!
